6 things NOT TO DO when applying for a Mortgage

1) Do not make major purchases like furniture, appliances, jewelry, vehicles or vacations.  Bottom line don't use a credit card! Don't apply for easy financing on anything. A good example is buying a couch for zero financing for one year.  You filled out a credit application.  They ran your credit. OPPPS.  Guess what your debt ratio changed and your credit dropped also.   Don't do anything where they ask for your Social Security number.
