Are you planning on selling your home in 2018? If so, you can increase the value of your house by following these effective tips:

Project #1 – Replace Your Garage Door

Cost - $1,500 to $2,000

With a resale value of $1,400, replacing the garage door on your home is a smart decision to make because an older garage door can make any home look old and outdated while a new garage door can make an older home look fresh and inviting.

Project #2 – Replace The Siding On Your Home

Cost - $12,000 or more

Replacing the siding before listing your home on the Real Estate market is also another important upgrade you can make because new vinyl siding will help to protect your home from the elements, insulate it all year long, and help your home to look more appealing from the street.

Project #3 – Improve Curb Appeal

Cost $1,000+

There’s no denying that the curb appeal of your house is going to be the first thing that buyers see when they see your home for the first time, and if your house has poor curb appeal they may decide to keep on driving.

To improve the curb appeal of your home you should consider planting new flowers, add new sod (if needed), add mulch or another ground cover, paint your mailbox, power wash your driveway/sidewalk in front of your home and remove all trash or debris that may be in your front yard.

Project #4 – De-Clutter Your Home

Cost - $0 to $500

Depending on how long you may have been living in your Home, one of the first projects that you should do inside your home is to declutter because, decluttering can cost nothing if you decide to sell or donate some of the items that you are no longer using, and it will create the feeling of more space if you have fewer personal items in your home.

Project #5 – Update Your Kitchen

Cost - $2,000 or more

Let’s say that you want to update your kitchen but not spend $60,000 on a full renovation.

Instead of a complete kitchen “gut job” you should focus on a minor kitchen renovation instead by refinishing/painting the cabinets, replacing hardware for the cabinets/drawers, paint the kitchen, remove appliances from the counter tops, replace an outdated dishwasher or refrigerator and refinish or replace flooring.
