Americans Rank Historic Events as Most Important in Their Lifetimes (Time)

For the History Channel, Americans were asked to select the 10 historic events that occurred during their lives that were the most important to America. The results are presented by generation and ethnicity. One event was chosen number one for all four polled generations.

When Blind People Do Algebra, Their Brains' Visual Areas Light Up (NPR)

A study at Johns Hopkins has challenged the belief each area of the brain serves a specific function. Blind and sighted individuals were asked to perform algebra problems. Their MRIs revealed the area of the brain associated with sight was active in blind people, but not in sighted individuals. The results suggest rewiring of the brain may be possible, which could eventually help those with strokes or other brain injuries.
