This is a list of five things to get you ready for potential of heavy rain in your area.

1. Houston has a large amount of trees around neighborhood homes so make sure all your gutters are cleared of debris .

2. Trim tree branches.

3. Clean the drainage system on your property to make sure water flows smoothly threw drainage system.

4. Move all lawn equipment into storage and any outdoor materials that could be washed away or cause damage to your home.

5. Have an emergency kit assembled incase you loose power .
