Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce Chairman's Ball

MONTGOMERY — It was a night of honor and fun at La Torretta Lake Resort and Spa as the Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce’s exiting Chairman Danielle Scheiner was thanked for her services to the area Saturday at the Chamber’s Ball.

“It has been an honor serving you all as chairman,” Scheiner said. “This is always such a great event. I am really excited about this.”

As chairman, Scheiner created a formal strategic plan that will “help lay the groundwork for years to come,” according to Scheiner.

“It’s a recognition of our chairman, and to celebrate the momentum we’ve had,” Chamber President Scott Harper said. “Danielle is an amazing woman. Her accessibility this year was great. Being a mother of two, a wife, having a great job with the (Greater Conroe) Economic Development (Council) and still balancing everything else she did — I don’t know how she did it, but she did a great job all year for us.”

More than 460 people gathered inside the resort to attend the black and white-themed ball. They celebrated Scheiner with cocktails, dinner, dancing and casino games presented by Sam Houston State University and Hadco International.

“It’s a soldout event, and the most we’ve ever had here,” said Courtney Galle, director of program development with the Chamber. “We still have people coming, and that’s a good thing.

“Lots of fun, gambling, drinking and mingling.”

Incoming chairman and current Conroe ISD Superintendent Dr. Don Stockton also praised his predecessor.

“It’s been a great year as far as community development … and Danielle’s leadership played a big part in all of that,” Stockton said. “Those are some big shoes to fill for next year.”

During the dinner portion of the evening, Scheiner and other members of the Chamber gave special recognition to several important contributors, including presenting the Randy Tinsley Award for Diplomat of the Year to Caroline Mason.

Once the presentation was over, guests were treated to live music from the Drywater Band, sponsored by Protect Controls and Mr. Rooter Plumbing, before exiting the festivities at midnight.
